What is a Community Behavioral Health Provider?

A community behavioral health provider is an organization or facility that offers vital mental health and substance abuse services to individuals within a community, regardless of ability to pay. At Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health Services, we understand the importance of providing counseling, therapy, crisis intervention, and other behavioral health treatments to help individuals cope with various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, addiction, or trauma. Funding for community behavioral health providers typically comes from a combination of sources, including government grants and contracts, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements, private insurance payments, and donations. Government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels often allocate funds to support mental health services in the community. We ensure there are no financial barriers that prevent community members from receiving mental or behavioral health support.
